Unyielding Health & Wellness is proud to offer counselling services provided by Canadian Certified Counsellors (C.C.C).
Many extended health care plans cover all or part of counselling fees when services are delivered by a C.C.C. If you contribute to a benefits plan through work, First Nations Health Authority, or private insurance, you may be eligible for coverage.
This page will help you understand how mental health insurance works, how to confirm your coverage, and how to use our direct billing options.
Counselling is not covered under BC’s Medical Services Plan (MSP). This means that most private practices, including ours, rely on extended health benefits or out-of-pocket payment.
Extended health insurance may cover counselling if your plan recognizes the Canadian Certified Counsellor (C.C.C) designation. Coverage varies by insurer and by policy, so it’s important to confirm your benefits before your first session.
Contact your insurance provider and ask:
We offer direct billing to make accessing counselling more accessible and seamless for clients who are with insurance providers on the Telus eClaims and Sun Life Lumino Health networks. This means we can submit claims directly to many insurance providers if they recognize Canadian Certified Counsellors (C.C.C.) at the time of your appointment, reducing up front costs and complexity for our clients. You will have to confirm your coverage by asking the questions listed above.
We can direct bill to the following insurers (subject to policy coverage):
If your provider doesn’t support direct billing, the process is simple:
Pay for your session upfront.
Download your receipt from your Jane App profile (including provider name, registration number, and session cost).
Submit your receipt to your insurer through their app, website, or HR portal.
Receive reimbursement directly from your provider.
If you need help with claims, your HR representative or insurer’s customer support can assist you.
We believe cost shouldn’t be a barrier to mental health support. If you have extended health benefits, you may already qualify for partial or full coverage. If you’re not sure where to start, our team can guide you through the process so you can get the support you need with as few obstacles as possible.
